The Male Gaze

Fifth Harmony – All in my head (Flex) ft. Fetty Wap
In this music video there are a lot of women (All of Fifth
Harmony) that are barely clothed, mainly bikinis dancing around on the beach.
However, you could say that this is degrading to the woman even though they are
singing because of the amount of men in the video. There’s definitely an aspect
of the male gaze because the women are the main part of the video, there is
also topless men in this video so both genders could be attracted to the music
video but because of the fact that both the men and the women are exposed it’s
not as degrading and it’s more equal.

Right at the start of the music video each of the Fifth
Harmony are on their own one by one and practically presented to the camera and
at this point the male gaze is fairly obvious as they are all sexualised even
though they are clothed.
